This is not the first time that Malaysia made it on to an international list, or was rated by an international media outlet. In July last year, International Living, a newsletter offering advice to Americans on places to retire or work overseas ranked Malaysia as the best place to retire in Asia. The International Living magazine’s ‘Best Place in the World to Retire’ report ranks Malaysia as the top country in the region, and ranks it 19th globally. In February this year, TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site announced that based on their Traveller’s Choice Awards, Malaysia’s Casa del Mar in Langkawi is the second most romantic hotel in Asia. In May 2013, the Huffington Post ranked Malaysia as the second best place in the world for a stress-free solo travel. According to the blurb, “Safe, affordable and full of opportunities for outdoor exploration, Malaysia is a top solo travel destination in Asia.”
Do you think George Town and Kuala Lumpur are the best cities in Malaysia for expats to retire at?
