Vera and Ernst Geyer don’t need to keep journals; their travelling lives and artistic passions are preserved forever in the various stunning pieces of furniture that have transformed their spacious house in Jade Hills into an extraordinary and truly personal home.
“Oh, it’s just our hobby,” chuckles Indonesian-born Vera when I marvel at the way in which the couple have crafted the uniform space into something quite unique. “Ernst and I are lucky we have the same tastes. If he buys something on his trips, I know it will be perfect, and it works the same the other way around.”
The couple, who met in Asia, own property in Ernst’s native Austria but are based in Malaysia. Their Jade Hills house is a recent purchase, and one that was prompted by the wonderful quiet that seems to envelop this new township near Kajang. The Geyers moved in with their 9-year-old son a year ago, “but we only finished decorating in February,” Vera says laughing. “It took us a long time to get it how we wanted it!”
