The Prime Minister’s Department made it into The Malaysia Book of Records, reports the New Straits Times. According to the report, the department made it under the ‘Human Achievements’ category, for organising the ‘Largest Contingent of Secretaries-General in a Merdeka Parade.’
Based on the record, a total of 23 secretaries-general from 25 ministries and government departments joined forces to participate in the parade which was held in conjunction with Malaysia’s 55th Independence Day celebration at Dataran Merdeka on 31 August at Kuala Lumpur.
The certificate was received by Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa, Chief Secretary to the government, on behalf of the Prime Minister’s Department. The certificate was presented to Datuk Hamsa by Datuk Danny Ooi, founder of The Malaysia Book of Records.
The Malaysia Book of Records is a non-profit organisation. It was launched in 1995, and documents and records performance, endurance, speed and uniqueness, among others, achieved by Malaysians.
