Rihanna topped the most shared videos in the month of December. Same position as last November. This also makes her a contender for most shared videos of the year 2012.
In December 2012, Rihanna’s Diamonds video achieved approximately 4,100,000 shares. Slightly less than the previous month’s 5,700,000 shares but still an impressive social spread.
2. Psy – Gangnam Style
The world’s most famous song, Gangam Style, continued to lead the reign of second most shared videos. His cheesy dancing in ‘fancy’ clothes and ostentatious moves are still viral. In November, the Gangam style video achieved approximately 4,700,000. In December 2012, the video was shared approximately. 2,700,000 times.
3. will.i.am – Scream & Shout ft. Britney Spears
will.i.am, well known as a founding member of The Black Eyed Peas, is paving a golden road for his successful solo career. He has launched four solo albums. He released his first solo album in 2001 and his most recent album (#willpower) releaseed in 2012 includes the song “Scream & Shout” ft. Britney Spears. This video has certainly gone viral with about 2,400,000 shares in December 2012.
Wham! – Last Christmas
Who remembers the british duo from the 1980s, Wham! Well, their “Last Christmas” song experienced a seasonally appropriate social media sharing surge. This video had approximately 2,100,000 shares in December 2012. Struggling to recall the rythm? Watch the video below and resonate with the past.
5. Bruno Mars – Locked Out of Heaven
When I first hear the beginning of this song, I expected vocals to belt out from British rock band The Police. Instead I heard reggae pop artist Bruno Mars. This spunk infused rock songs echos a catchy rhythm. With 1,800,000 shares in December, this video has definitely reached a mass audience. Check out the video below.
6. Mariah Carey – All I want for Christmas is You
Who stole some hearts during Christmas? Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You”. The song was originally released in 1994 and social sharing voted it still popular for this year’s Christmas holiday. With approximate 1,500,000 shares in December, Mariah Carey’s video is the 6th most shared video. Check out the video below.
7. Golden Eagle Catches Kids
Upon first watch, this looks like a stunning handed camera shot that makes you think, “Did that just really happen?”. The answer is, “No”. The creators of the video have admitted it’s a hoax. 8. David Guetta – She Wolf (Falling to Pieces) ft. Sia
David’s Guetta’s “She Wolf” ranked number 7th most viral online video in the previous month. In December, the video ranked number 8th with approximately 1,400,000 shares. Still strong.
9. Mariah Carey – All I Want for Christmas is You
Another visual version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” experienced a viral explosion, raking in 1,400,000 shares. You can watch this version below.
10. Alicia Keys – Girl on Fire
Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” secured the 10th most shared video with about 1,400,000 shares in December 2012. This song appears on Alicia Key’s fifth album also called Girl on Fire. The lyrics paint observations of relationships and God, and the rhythm aligns with R&B. Check out the video below.
