The Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, has launched a special book on the Istana Negara. The book, 'Lambang Kedaulatan dan Keagungan Raja-raja Melayu' (The Symbol of Sovereignty and Glory of Malay Rulers), was launched at the Shangri-La Hotel last night.
The 287-page book was written by Datuk Md Nizam Md Sheriff. It highlights the layout of the palace compound, architectural design and carving, the history of its construction and the important ceremonies held at the Istana Negara Complex, which is located in Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur.
The function was graced by Raja Perempuan Perlis Tengku Fauziah Tengku Abdul Rashid, former Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Information, Communication and Culture Minister, Datuk Rais Yatim and Tourism Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen.
