For the third year, Malaysia will join the world to show unity against climate change, by switching off lights in as many places as possible for one hour.
According to the World Wide Fund for Nature-Malaysia (WWF-Malaysia), the switch off of non-essential lights will begin at 8.30pm.
To get more youths to participate, WWF-Malaysia with Universal Music Malaysia, Sunway Pyramid and DiGi Telecommunication will be organising an Earth Hour 2013 Band Contest. This is to help build environmental awareness through music, especially for the youths.
Earth Hour is a global environment initiative started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia. Malaysia joined the initiative in 2009.
Will you be switching off all your non-essential lights during Earth Hour?
