Possibility for Malaysian Footballers to Play for Cardiff City

Malaysia’s Prime Minister recently said that it was possible for Malaysian footballers to play for the Malaysian-owned Cardiff City FC team of Wales to gain experience. Cardiff City is owned by Malaysian tycoon, Tan Sri Vincent Tan.

In November 2012, about 50 Felda children were given the opportunity to play and train with Cardiff City Football Academy in Wales. The children had the advantage of training with the younger players in the academy and they also took part in friendly matches with some local teams. A repeat of this experience is possible, according to Najib.

Felda United is said to be second from the bottom in a list of 12 teams playing in the Malaysian Super League.
