University Sabah Malaysia’s first International Sports Science Conference (UISSCo2013) begins today and will run till the 26th.
The conference, held at the varsity’s auditorium, has already attracted a crowd 300 strong. Dr Mohamad Nizam Nazarudin, the chairman of UISSCo2013, has stated that the purpose of the function is to serve as a platform for local and international sports science experts, academics and enthusiasts can meet, exchange ideas and form partnerships.
“Results from the presentation of the work are expected to provide input to those involved in sports, especially to institutions of higher learning in the country.” Nazarudin stated. “Paper presentations of high quality will be considered for publication in Sport Journal of Ministry of Education.”
100 such papers will be delivered at the forum.
Sabah’s Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan has pledged his support to the conference and reasserted his commitment to help promote the development of sports and sports science throughout the region.
