Negeri Sembilan is a unique state in Malaysia. It has long been related with Minang culture which derives from Minangkabau in Indonesia. In the 15th century, the Minangkabau people from Sumatra, Indonesia came to settle in Negeri Sembilan and thus, brought their culture with them. Among the many notable influences of this Minang culture is the Minang cuisine.

Minang cuisine use of ingredients is mainly rice, fish, coconut, green leafy, vegetables and chili padi. Various spices and herbs such as tumeric, ginger and galangal are important elements used in Minangkabau cooking.

Lemang is known as the Minang specialty and is normally eaten with rendang, a traditional dry meat curry dish cooked with coconut.

The variety of salads and appetizers are complemented by an assortment of sauces which are mild and spicy.

The soup station is a must try. Chef Badrul has prepared his very own recipe of Sup Tulang Rawan; Sup Ekor Sapi; Soup Torpedo and Sup Kambing Bersantan. If you prefer a touch of western or Oriental flavour, highly recommended are the Wild Country Mushroom Soup; Asparagus Soup; Shanghai Seafood Soup and ABC Chinese Style Soup.

The home cooked style main courses will have you craving for more. Family and friends can sit back to enjoy Chef Badrul’s popular dishes such as Daging Masak Kerutub; Ikan Jenahak Masak Kari Bendi; Terung Bakar Lemak Putih; Udang Lemak Nenas; Sotong Sambal Petai; Siput Sedut Masak; Lamb Kuzi; Perut Masak Lemak; Daging Gulai Berempah; Ayam Kari Kapitan; Bendi Goreng Belacan; Nasi Briyani and Lamb Masala.

The desserts are simply irresistible.
