Passengers traveling with Firefly Airlines can now enjoy a more hassle-free and user-friendly travel experience as Firefly recently launched several new kiosks at SkyPark Terminal, Subang. This operational initiative is part of Firefly’s continuous effort to further enhance customers’ experience. This innovative feature will simplify the airport experience for passengers and aims to minimise the inconvenience commonly associated with check-in processes.
“We intend to alleviate most of the hassle of manual check-in and the queue especially during peak periods primarily for business people and/or commuters on the go. With this new system, it will allow real-time automated checks on self-printed boarding passes. Departing passengers with no check-in baggage can now enjoy a seamless journey as they no longer need to queue at the check-in counters to get their self-printed boarding passes verified by counter staff. They can instead proceed straight to the customs, immigration and quarantine access point where their passes will be verified automatically by security officers”, says Chief Executive Officer, Ignatius Ong.
Firefly’s IT manager, Jimmy Tan highlights, “Now that we have delivered the kiosks, our next step is to work with the mobile check-in facility. This will enable passengers to print their boarding passes by just flashing their smartphones with the QR code at the kiosks”.
The common use of kiosks present a convenient check-in alternative for passengers and better support for Firefly’s operating needs at SkyPark Terminal. Passengers can use these mobile kiosks to check-in themselves, saving time and streamlining their travel experience. There are currently 6 self-check-in kiosks in operation at the departure hall of SkyPark, ready to serve passengers today. Firefly is monitoring the usage of the kiosks and will introduce more of this feature in other Firefly hubs such as Penang in the near future.
Passengers are advised to use Firefly’s easy self-check-in options whether it be at the convenience of their homes via web check in or at the airport via self-check-in kiosk.
