A Malaysian family of six will be making an astounding journey back to Malaysia from the UK by traveling across 39 countries in a road journey that will take approximately 75 days!
The former engineer, Jamal Ismail, (the founder of By Road to Malaysia project) and his family began their trip last Saturday. They are traveling in a 1998 Mercedes Sprinter motor home, and are expecting to log between 20,922km and 28,646km from Seaham, Sunderland, to their hometown in Kubang Pasu, Kedah. Some of the countries they will be traveling across include Germany, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.
Jamal and his wife, Sofinee, plan to stop every 322km to visit museums and information centres, to further educate their home-schooled children, and also to expose them to different cultures and lifestyles.
According to Jamal’s wife Sofinee, the biggest challenge for the family was to get out from their comfort zones and face challenges without knowing the outcome. The family will share the experience of their two and a half month journey through Facebook, Twitter and their website.
The family is also undertaking this journey while observing the fasting month.
