KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has appointed World No 1 squash queen Dato’ Nicol David as its brand ambassador.
“It is a feather in our cap and we are very proud that Dato’ Nicol being the world’s best squash player not only accepts but duly endorses our brand as the preferred airline despite her gruelling travel requirements. This indeed speaks volumes of her trust in us,” said Estee Ng, Country Manager, Air France-KLM.
“With KLM’s extensive global network, we shall ensure Dato’ Nicol expands her global dominance by providing her with reliable and timely connections for tournaments, training or promoting squash for the Olympic Games,” added Ng.
KLM flies daily between Kuala Lumpur, which is home for Dato’ Nicol, and to Amsterdam where she is based for training.
Speaking at the sponsorship ceremony in Kuala Lumpur today, Dato’ Nicol quipped, “I would like to thank my new sponsor KLM for making it so much easier not only to come home to Malaysia but to travel the world over without any hassle. It is a privilege to be associated with the best”
KLM currently offers a daily flight between KLIA and Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, the gateway to Europe, seven of which are code shared with Malaysia Airlines.

Hence in the process it became one of the world’s leaders by turnover not only in passenger transport but also cargo and engineering and maintenance.
The AIR FRANCE KLM Group’s fleet comprises 573 aircraft and a network that covers 243 destinations in 103 countries from its hubs at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol.
The Flying Blue frequent flyer programme is world leader in Europe and has over 21 million members. With their partners Delta and Alitalia, AIR FRANCE and KLM operate the biggest transatlantic joint venture with more than 250 daily flights.
