You might have noticed yesterday that shared stories and sponsored posts in the news feed have larger image sizes. This is part of Facebook’s attempts to facilitate more clicks (for sponsored posts, which generates revenue for Facebook) and to simplify its ad unit offering.
These changes were expected, as Facebook announced them in June of this year. However, they still make a noticeable difference to the look and feel of the Facebook newsfeed.
