Held at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC) @ The Mines, the sale will offer book lovers with up to 75%-95% discount on all three million books.
For those who don’t know, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale was founded by the executive director of BookXcess, Andrew Yap. BookXcess is located in Amcorp Mall in Petaling Jaya and offers book lovers with super low price on books.
The objective behind the Big Bad Wolf Sale was to inspire Malaysians to cultivate the reading habit, and judging from the crowd from last year alone, Malaysians are definitely on the wagon.
This year, the sale will start at 7am on 6 December and end at 9pm on 15 December. That’s 230 hours of non-stop shopping!
You can find all kinds of books at this sale ranging from fiction, romance, historical books, comics, cook books, children’s books, coffee table books, workbooks for kids, revision books, books on languages and more!
Perks
Besides the crazy discounts, there are some other perks to look out for while at the Big Bad Wolf Sale. Those with OCBC credit cards will receive an additional 5% discount.
There is a storage area for you to leave your unpaid-for books while you go back to collect more.
Those who are hungry and thirsty will enjoy the F&B outlets while parents will be relived to know there is a children’s playground to keep the young ones occupied.
Important Tips to Remember
- Bring your own recycle bags, trolleys or suitcase to lug your books around. Boxes will be provided at the sale but we think it is much easier to drag a trolley or suitcase around then carrying a box.
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Leave the heels and miniskirts and home and come in your favourite flip flops, jeans and t-shirts. Shorts are also allowed.
- Choose your timing well if you want to avoid peak hours at the sale.
- One visit will probably not be enough as you might get tired after a couple of hours. Spend your time wisely and plan your route around the sale. Come back another day to finish your shopping.
- Do not toss your unwanted books everywhere. Be responsible and put them back in its rightful place.
