CultureRun’s Newest Campaign Aims to Empower Women

CultureRun, a community marketplace connecting people with skills to share, with those looking to learn new skills, has teamed up with some of Kuala Lumpur’s most influential women to create a campaign that is focused on allowing women to live out their dreams, create a better lifestyle and to become the best they can be.

The campaign is created with the modern women in mind and allows for them to do something different with their weekends and learn a new skill or knowledge that they can apply to their everyday life.

Real Women, Real Dreams, Real Skills runs for 5 weekends from 8 March to 7 April, 2014, and will be centered around 5 personality types that captures the beauty and diversity of women: Domestic Goddess, The Corporate Queen, The Hipster Artist, The Independent Woman and Fit, Fierce and Fabulous. The campaign launches on 8 March, 2014, with the intent of inspiring women to believe in themselves and exploring the possibilities available in reaching their best. The campaign’s goal is to inspire women into transforming herself into whoever she wants to be. Each weekend will see Shareshops (workshops and classes on CultureRun are classed as ShareShops) held around each personality type giving all women a chance at participating in this exciting new venture.

One of the campaign’s goal is to encourage women to lend their skills and dreams to society and to be recognized as agents of change and impact. The campaign was developed after looking back at the history of CultureRun and realizing the female team that the company started with. The acknowledgement that women should not shy away rom being what they want to be, and have the courage to seize her potential spurred the co-founders into reaching out to other inspirational women such as Freda Liu, Chin Xin Ci, Samantha Lee and Marianne Tan. These women will be among the ambassadors for each weekend and will even be conducting Shareshops such as PR Yourself, How to be a YouTuber and DIY Edible Bento Art.

Whilst the Shareshops will be open to all, they will be geared primarily towards women.
