Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Gavin Yap, a Malaysian actor for film and theatre has recently tried his hand in directing a movie for the big screen. Named Take me to Dinner, the movie is basically about an aging assassin named Edward who decides to retire from his illegal occupation after falling in love. But, before retiring, he is forced to go for a final dinner with his fellow assassins.

Taking the role of the main character of the film is Patrick Teoh, a famous Malaysian actor and radio personality. Also starring in the movie alongside Patrick Teoh are Susan Lankester, who plays Edward’s love interest, Thor Kah Hoong, Ben Tan, U-En Ng, Michael Chen, Loo Jia-Wei, Na’a Murad and Chew Kin Wah.

Key scenes from the film were shot in The Coliseum, a colonial-styled steakhouse located at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. The shooting for the film was amazingly completed in a short period of twelve days, which was indeed a notable achievement for the production crew.

Yap revealed that he cast the film and fixed the shoot dates first before coming up with the story line.
When asked regarding his choice of older characters for the film, Yap replied, ““I find older characters more interesting because once you reach a certain point in your life it becomes about the important questions. What have you done with your life? Where are you going?”

Presented by Garang Pictures, who recently brought us CuakTake me to Dinner promises to deliver a good watch. The film mainly revolves around themes of love, death, friendship and redemption.

Take me to Dinner will be out on 13 March at selected GSC cinemas.
