Celebrity food and travel host Anthony Bourdain has plans to open a Malaysian-styled food court in New York.
Apparently, Bourdain was interviewed by Departures magazine (an international luxury magazine), where he revealed that the food court will not only have nasi lemak and laksa, but will also feature some global cuisines as well. The food court, or food emporium, will be home to about 50 food stalls. Foodies can expect a variety of cuisines like the Vietnamese pho, Chinese lamb noodles, Iberico ham and a number of favourite Malaysian dishes as well.
According to Bourdain, the food court will be divided into three parts; the Asian food hall (featuring Singaporean and Malay food), an International section (featuring gourmet street food like Mexican tostadas and more) and a quarterly pop-up hall which will highlight a different city, country or region every three months.
The exact location and opening date will be revealed soon.
