What brought you to Malaysia?
I have been here for 3 years now. We came here when my husband was transferred with Marriott International.
What do you like or dislike about the country?
I love the culture and the history and the fact that my girls are speaking Mandarin. Of course, I love the humongous variety of F&B outlets! I don’t like the lack of common courtesy when you’re driving here.
Name 3 typical weekend activities you enjoy most.
I love swimming because the weather here is great! We also love eating out because there are just so many different types of food to try here. We also love the greenery and the parks.
What is your favourite holiday destination here? Why?
Hands down the Perhentian Islands – they are beautiful!
Describe a memorable eating experience you have had here.
We went to Bijan for a meal and that was amazing. The fusion of flavours reminds me of Malaysia itself. It was absolutely delicious.
Do you own property here? If so, where?
We are considering a purchase right now actually.
Is Malaysia a good place to work and do business in? Why?
Yes of course. The environment is a fast paced one, the people are friendly and a level of efficiency is definitely there.
Is Malaysia a good country to raise children? Why?
Absolutely. My own children get to grow up being exposed to so many different cultures and languages. It’s an experience like no other.
How long do you plan to stay in Malaysia? Where would you like to go next, and why?
We would like to be here for another 4 years or so. After that, who knows!
