Malaysia Airlines Flight Lands Safely After Being Hit by Lightning

A Malaysia Airlines flight bound for Langkawi has landed safely after being struck by lightning.

Flight MH1348 landed safely at the Langkawi International Airport an hour after departing from KLIA.

According to a passenger on-board the flight, the plane’s left engine had a small explosion after being struck by lightning, causing small sparks that startled several passengers.

Malaysia Airlines released a statement saying that the aircraft was immediately inspected and subsequently released for service, and has since returned safely to KLIA without any problems.
