The Expat Wine Dinner at Chakri Palace

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Well-known for its superb and authentic Thai cuisine, Chakri Palace at Pavilion was a no brainer for the last wine dinner. With dishes prepared by award-winning chefs, guests got to experience the very best of Thailand’s unique culinary offerings right here in KL.

The dinner started off with traditional spring rolls and Meang Kam, paired with a beautiful Two Oceans Sauvignon Blanc, before guests got to sample the Chakri Tom Yam with King Prawn, a superb version of this hugely popular Thai dish, if there ever was one.

Thai Mango Salad with Crispy Catfishfollowed, aided by a smooth glass of the McGuigan Black Label Moscato.

As the chatter got louder, guests had the choice of either a Curry Rice served with Fried Chicken in Thai Black Pepper Sauce or Fragrant Rice served with Fish Fillet Thai Samrod Sauce, to go with the delightful Nederburg Winemaster’s Reserve Pinotage.

No evening is complete without dessert, and the Chilled Red Ruby Water Chestnut was wonderfully paired with a creamy glass of Amarula Liqueur.

All in all, it was another successful wine dinner, with everyone heading home with their taste buds (and bellies) fully satisfied.
