Soup Kitchens in KL City to Move out by Monday

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A fine will be imposed on soup kitchens if they don’t move their operation out of KL’s city centre by Monday.

According to a comment by Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, the government is looking into cleaning the streets of the homeless.

Tengku Adnan has instituted a 2km radius around Lot 10 shopping mall, where soup kitchens or non-governmental organisations are not allowed to feed the homeless.

“The image of my city is very bad,” he told reporters at a press conference.

“If I don’t do this sort of thing, society won’t be disciplined.”
