Major Roads in KL to be Closed Beginning Friday

Looks like it might be a good idea to stay home this weekend. According to The Star, “several major roads and three highways will be partially or completely closed this weekend.” The road closure will begin in stages from Friday, to accommodate the 35,200 people participating in the Standard Chartered KL Marathon this coming Sunday.

From 10pm on Friday, Jalan Raja near Dataran Merdeka, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Hishamuddin would be closed while Jalan Dang Wangi would be closed from late Saturday night.
The Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (Akleh), Duke Highway and the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) would be partially or completely closed in stages, 15 minutes before the marathon starts at 4.30am on Sunday.

  • Jalan Ampang
  • Jalan P. Ramlee
  • Jalan Raja Chulan
  • Jalan Perak
  • Jalan Bukit Bintang
  • Jalan Tun Razak
  • Jalan Jelatek
  • Jalan Kuching
  • Jalan Duta
  • Jalan Langgak Tunku
  • Jalan Tun Ismail
  • Jalan Sultan Salehuddin
  • Jalan Parlimen
  • Jalan Mahameru
  • Jalan Damansara
  • Jalan Cenderawasih
  • Jalan Lembah
  • Jalan Tangling
  • Jalan Perdana
  • Jalan Mahkamah Persekutuan
  • Jalan Leboh Pasar Besar
  • Batu Caves Segambut and Dato Onn roundabouts

All roads will be reopened at noon on Sunday.

Those who intend on venturing in to the city are advised to look at alternate routes.
