Users of popular messaging app WhatsApp can now check if their messages have been read.
Notice the double blue tick marks below your sent messages? Well, that indicates when your message has been read.
When you send a message to someone on WhatApp, and the double check mark appears, that means the message has been received by the user. A single check indicates that the message has reached WhatsApp’s servers. When the double check marks turn blue, it means the message has been read.
WhatsApp’s updated FAQ explains more.
Also, to find out the exact time your message was read, just long-press on the message and tap on the message info button. For the time being, there is no setting to turn this feature off.
