National Geographic’s Documentary on MH370 Will Not be Aired in Malaysia

National Geographic’s documentary on MH370 will not be aired in Malaysia.

According to a report by The Rakyat Post, the documentary titled “Malaysian 370: What Happened?” will be aired in the UK on March 8, to mark the one year anniversary of the flight’s disappearance.

The documentary by National Geographic will feature insights by experts on what supposedly happened. A report (by the Malaysian Insider) says that the documentary highlighted the fact that MH370 had made three turns (the third was pointing in the direction of Antarctica) after its last contact with air traffic controllers.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, after departing Kuala Lumpur for Beijing. There were 239 people on board the plane. Till this day, there have been no solid evidence of the missing plane.

Late last month, Malaysia officially declared the disappearance of flight MH370 an accident. That statement allowed the airline to proceed with compensation payment to the victims’ families.

“We officially declare Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 an accident … and that all 239 of the passengers and crew on-board MH370 are presumed to have lost their lives,” said the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) director-general Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, in a statement released last month.

Below is a short preview of another documentary on MH370, by Air Crash Investigation.

Correction: Initially we wrote the documentary will only be aired in the UK on March 8. We have now changed it to, “the documentary titled “Malaysian 370: What Happened?” will be aired in the UK on March 8. It is unclear whether the documentary will be aired anywhere else.

We are supposed to believe that it was an ‘accident’… because commercial planes are known to switch off all communications, make a u-turn and fly off on it’s own by accident.
