At the official event to announce the launch of Uber in Penang, Kenny Choong, Uber Everywhere General Manager for Malaysia said, “Uber is excited to launch in Penang, our third city in Malaysia. Since we launched in Kuala Lumpur last year, the response we’ve received has been overwhelming and we continue to see rapid growth. In fact with the launch of Penang, Malaysia becomes the first country in SEA to have 3 cities that are moving with Uber. This is a testament to the huge demand by both riders and driver partners as we look forward to taking transportation to a new level in the city.”
