Despite the fact that education is generally free in local public schools, many parents are choosing to send their children to international schools in Selangor, spending more than RM100,000 for school fees every year.
As reported by The Malay Mail, the number of Malaysian students enrolled at international schools in Selangor, as well as the the rest of Malaysia, is 0.4%, which is a total of 5,250,732. This number rose significantly in 2013 by 1%, which is almost 20,000 students more, according to Malaysia’s Ministry of Education.
Many parents choose to send their children to international schools in Selangor because of the international curriculum; International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), and also because these schools follow the national curriculum of Australia, America, UK and more.
In addition to world-renowned reputation, these schools place emphasis on recognising each student as an individual, because not every pupil is equally skilled in all areas.
