The Holiday Inn in Batu Ferringhi thinks of itself as a family hotel but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do in the evening for adults. We enjoyed a lovely Mingle evening on 29 November in the lounge by the poolside accompanied by the soft strains of the regular band and singers. We had been planning to have the Mingle on the terrace overlooking the sea, which is also a great location particularly at sunset, but the heavy monsoon storm clouds made an undercover Mingle rather more sensible!
Over 65 people attended and enjoyed the Indian specialities that the Holiday Inn is famous for including: plain and garlic nan with hummus and dhall dips, canapees of: Buffalo Mozarella, Stuffed Lychee with Crab Meat, and Malai Chicken. We even had a main course buffet of Butter Chicken, Aloo Gobi, and Paneer with spinach. The tasty food was washed down with excellent wine and beer and soft drinks for those who wished, and all in all, it was a memorable evening.
We are grateful to our two IWA volunteers who “manned” the welcome desk: our new President, Marlene Fox, and Kathy Roper. We would also like to thank Pauline Harwood and Ronni Pinsler, who took the photographs.
Join us for our next Mingle. Details here.
