Tenby Schools is bringing together the musical talents from its five campuses across Malaysia for a performance of Carmina Burana at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, ‘home’ of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, on Sunday 8th May, 2016, at 6.00 p.m.
Carmina Burana (meaning “Songs of Beuron”) by Carl Orff, is a collection of 13th century lyrics set to a dynamic, percussive score. The mesmerising 65-minute performance is about the wheel of fortune and the capricious nature of fate – sometimes one is up, sometimes one is down, but the wheel keeps turning..
The performance will be given by a large symphony orchestra, vocal soloists, dancers, and a choir of over 200 voices. The conductor will be Andrew Auster, Campus Principal of Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park (KL), a former Director of Music.
It is open to the public and tickets are on sale now. Please call 03-3342 1535 or 013-358 1565 for tickets and information.
