Prominent international actress, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, who is also the SAFE STEPS Road Safety Ambassador, launched the SAFE STEPS Road Safety Programme at Tenby Schools Ipoh recently. The programme aims to raise awareness and provide clear, educational information on some of the leading causes of road crashes and fatalities. The school community applauds the collaboration with Prudence Foundation, as it will remind not just students, but parents about the importance of road safety.
“Road safety is a serious issue all over the world, and very much so here in Malaysia so I am glad that Tenby Schools has taken the initiative to bring the programme here to its students,” said Michelle Yeoh, who is an Ipoh native. She added, “Malaysia ranks third in Southeast Asia for the highest number of deaths attributed to road crashes so as a Malaysian, it is important for me to try and drive awareness and promote these messages here in my home country.”
The programme was launched concurrently with three other Tenby Schools; Tenby Setia Eco Park (KL), Tenby Penang, and Setia Eco Gardens (Johor) via a live feed at the respective campuses.
