To celebrate Mother’s Day last month, Straits International School’s Early Years and Key Stage One students welcomed their mums to school for the afternoon. The Early Years students began the proceedings with a performance of The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, followed by a song. They then returned to their classrooms for activities including crafts and puzzle solving. The children also enjoyed presenting art pieces made in class to their mothers.
Each Key Stage One class began their Mother’s Day treat with a song. 1-Wshowed off the sewing skills they acquired in class by presenting their mums with colourful heart-shaped cushions they had made. 1-D played games to test the children’s knowledge of their mothers. We would like to thank all our mums at SIS for the endless support they give to their children and their presence and involvement in school life and activities – it means the world to the students and to the teachers too. Happy Mother’s Day!
