The International School of Penang (Uplands) recently opened the doors to their new boarding facilities. The new residences are a mere 500 metres from Uplands school and cater for children from 12 to 18 years. Of course, a boarding house is more than just the physical environment. It is a thriving, vibrant community that reflects the personalities of those living within it.
Here’s what some of our students say: “Boarding, to us, is a great way to socialise with people from different years and various cultural backgrounds. Not only has it broadened our world view, it will help us grow as individuals.” Student from Year 13 “Boarding is a second home for us, it helped us to become the independent individuals we are today. We treat the staff here as second parents and the boarders as our siblings and best friends. Boarding means a lot to us.” Students from Year 10 and Year 12
