The May 2016 examinations were taken by over 149,000 pupils around the world who achieved an average Diploma point score of 30 out of a possible maximum of 45. Of the first Marlborough College Malaysia cohort of 41 pupils taking these examinations, over 80% achieved at or above the world average and 20% achieved 40 points or more. The average score from the graduating cohort was 35 points.
The Master of the College commented, “The results from our initial cohort of leavers are excellent, and both pupils and beaks should be very proud of their efforts. To achieve an average of 35 points in our first year of IB examinations from a non-selective entry is a remarkable achievement, and this is a fitting result for the commitment, dedication, and determination the pupils have portrayed throughout their time at Marlborough. They have also embraced the 3Cs of Compassion, Companionship, and Conversation and leave the College with a fourth C, Confidence, as they embark on the next stage of their careers. Our pupils have gained offers and entry to many of the world’s best universities, the vast majority to their first choice.”
