2. Pottery at Clay Expression
Working with clay can be therapeutic process. That satisfaction of seeing a completed piece of clay work you made with your own hands, wonky or not, is a feeling you won’t forget. Making art with clay is not as common since it requires bulky equipment (if you choose wheel throwing over hand sculpting) but Clay Expression has you covered.
They have pottery wheels and studio space available if you want to practise outside of class hours. They also have a kiln where you can fire your clay work, so you don’t need to use your own oven at home. Clay Expression offers classes for both children and adults.

3. Calligraphy at DC Calligraphy
Taking a step back from the infinite selection of fonts that are now available online, DC Calligraphy is offering us modern humans the chance to wind down and connect to the days of hand-written letters and books laced with intricate calligraphy.

4. Jewellery-making at Jewelz
There are a few different jewellery making classes at Jewelz from lampworking to beading, silversmithing, and art clay silver. Lampwork is the art of making glass beads, and Jewelz offers classes on three levels for RM480 per level. If you prefer silver work jewellery, they offer four levels of classes while the bead working workshop comes in seven different levels ranging from beginner to master.

5. Silkscreen printing at Raksasa Print
Run by an artist, Raksasa Print is a studio that offer printing services as well as classes on silkscreen printing to anyone willing to learn. The silkscreen course spans six hours, taught in two three-hour blocks. Throughout the course, you’ll be taught the entire process involved in silkscreen printing from preparing the screen to printing the image. You’ll end up with at least one print on paper and another on fabric. If you have any unfinished projects, you can finish up during their open studio hours.

6. Batik painting at myBatik, Yayasan Seni
Batik is a traditional fabric painting technique native to this region. At Yayasan Seni in KL, offers a number of different Batik related art classes from an introductory lesson to colouring and waxing to block printing. They also offer other art courses like tie-dye and latte art.
The batik classes on offer can be bought online and they provide all the materials you’ll need to create your own masterpiece. There are a number of different packages to choose from, so you can even bring your entire family for a batik painting class.

8. Acrylic and oil painting at The Studio at KL
Conducting only small classes, this lesson is a hands-on experience, with student painting together with teacher nearby to give guidance and advice. You can choose to paint with either acrylic or oil paints, and they have materials for you to buy if you’re doing this for the first time.
The Studio at KL also allows you to store your materials and canvas at the studio instead of having to haul it back home – convenience for the win. They also hold art jamming sessions where painters can come together for three hours of free and easy painting.

9. The Craft Crowd

10. The Artsy Craftsy
The Artsy Craftsy offers classes and session by appointment. Some classes you can take there are fabric painting, journalling, henna, dreamcatcher weaving, or product photography. 11. Shibori at Batik Boutique
Shibori is a fabric dyeing technique similar to tie dye. It requires knotting or clamping a piece of fabric to produce irregular and fun patterns when its dyed. For shibori, there are infinite ways to bind, twist, stich, fold, and compress a piece of fabric, each producing unique patterns. The workshop at Batik Boutique will include lessons on deveral different shibori techniques and you’ll be able to leave with your own unique textile.
