The International School of Penang (Uplands) is extremely proud of the fantastic IB Diploma results that our students achieved in the May 2016 examinations. Our students continued the tradition of averaging significantly higher than the world average IB score of 30. Our cohort averaged 34 points, and 44% achieved 36 points or higher.
These results reflect the amazing dedication of both our students and teachers to the IB programme, which has opened up some fantastic opportunities to continue developing their IB learner profile in far flung destinations such as the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Asia, and beyond.
These destinations included some of the world’s most prestigious institutions, notably Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of Melbourne, University of Illinois, and University of Oregon to name but a few.
As well as sending our students all over the world to further their education, Uplands is proud to be a school that promotes the philosophy and values of the IB Diploma Programme through our truly international current cohort of IB students, who hail from an astonishing total of 24 nations.
