AISM’s last day of school in 2016 proved to be a very eventful one. The highlight was the much anticipated Speech Day, a day of celebrating and inspiring student achievement. Guests of Honour at the ceremony included Dr Geoff Newcombe and Mr Michael Carr, CEO and COO of The Association of Independent Schools of NSW(AISNSW). Together with other special guests, they presented a number of academic, sport, performing arts, and special prizes to our students.
In his speech, Dr Newcombe provided some insight on how the teaching and learning environments are changing to be more student-focused and not teacher-dominated, as how it used to be. ‘The Australian curriculum offered in AISM will continue to equip its students to compete in this new global environment’. The ceremony brings together students, parents and teachers as they celebrate AISM’s holistic approach, featuring entertainment by the school orchestra, Year 8 Band, and Gamelan performances.
Indeed it was a significant event which demonstrated the achievement of students and the school as a whole. AISM is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and as a 5 Star International School by the Malaysian Ministry of Education.
