Exhibition is an opportunity for the children in Grade 5 to showcase who they are as learners; a chance for them to share the knowledge, skills and attitudes that they have developed during their Primary Education. Here at Excelsior, the children are encouraged to develop core values such as empathy, respect, open-mindedness and integrity and Exhibition is a chance to demonstrate these values. The children excelled in both their work and their presentations, which were shared with children, staff and parents. Our Central Idea of ‘We Can Inspire People In Our Community By Sharing Our Personal Passions’ was indeed what the children achieved. Reviews such as “…inspiring exhibition…” and “in depth exhibits” made the whole process worthwhile. The children demonstrated incredible creativity, enthusiasm, commitment and independence and to look around and see such pride on young learners’ faces was reward itself. Passions shared were wide ranging, from Curing Cancer to Dinosaurs and Indian Traditional Dance to Medical Technology. The children took action by organising lunchtime clubs, shows and even home-made craft sales to raise money for Cancer Research and a local Orphanage. The children of Excelsior truly are life-long learners who enjoy school and sharing their achievements.
