Recently, at the Rotary Club of Johor Bahru Central Installation Ceremony of President Ir Derek Cheah and his BOD, Excelsior International School (EIS) Interact Club members and primary students were recognized for community service activities. EIS students in partnership with Rotary Club of Johor Bahru Central have been working with 16 orphans from the SHAFAR Welfare Organisation (Pertubuhan Kebajikan Shafar) Johor Bahru.

Several of these activities have included the building of a community garden and supporting the Plant a Tree Campaign. EIS has been hosting Shafar Welfare Organisation every Friday during the school year to teach the girls swimming, art projects, to practice their English, and participate in building the garden and the Plant a Tree Campaign. Mr Ng Boon Yew, Founder and Chairman of EIS, also presented a RM 20,000 cheque raised during the annual Run for Hope and International Food Fair, which primary objective was to raise funds to support Cancer Research.
