If you’re anything like me, as soon as the month of December hits, the frantic present-buying spree begins. Luckily, there’s still another 25 days to go until the big day. One of the best places to get personalised and unique gifts are at Christmas bazaars and fortunately, many of them are starting this weekend. Here are a few places you can check out over this long weekend and throughout the month.
1. Bangsar Shopping Centre
When: Until 24 Dec
There are lots of activities and gifts to be given away at Bangsar Shopping Centre, with fun children activities and performances available as well. Some of the booths at the bazaar will be selling gifts, Christmas ornaments, clothes and accessories, cookies, and pastries.
2. The School by Jaya One
When: Dec 2 and 3
The best part about this Christmas Market is that all the items on sale will be below RM50! Crafters and artists have also been asked to join, with vendors offering food, apparels, accessories, and gifts on sale at the bazaar, which is also held to support 5 NGOs.
3. Publika
When: Dec 7 to 24
Publika’s annual Christmas bazaars never ceases to amaze guests, as the decor and feel of the place is usually highlighted with different artistic concepts every year. This year, Publika also has performances lined up, such as the Christmas choir and carols, as well as offering art workshops.
4. Wonder Market Christmas Series
When: Dec 14 to 16
Wondermama Cafe and Restaurant in Bangsar Village 1 is hosting their first ever Christmas market this year! There are local artisans, Christmas goodies, and arts and crafts are set to be sold. Guests will also have the chance to take part in a lucky draw!
5. Le Marche de Noel
When: Dec 7
With the aim of raising funds to aid children with terminal illness in Malaysia, this French Christmas market‘s bazaar entry is priced at RM30. However, the items on display offer different options to your gift hunting, most of which has a French feel to them.
6. Bazaarama at gateway@klia2
When: Until Dec 28
Flying in an out of the country this month? Not to worry, just pop by the Bazaarama, set to offer various Christmas goodies right at at the airport’s departure terminals!
7. Xmas Mrket
When: Dec 9 and 10
Carefully hand-picked, the vendors at the Xmas Mrket range from caligraphy artists to handmade crafters. Check out the list of their vendors here.
8. Christmas Bazaar with Christmas Concert
When: Dec 2
The Council of Churches Malaysia will be hosting this bazaar and concert, performed by Cantus Musicus, an international mixed chamber choir based in KL. Truly wholesome and festive, items set to be sold include Christian souvenirs, festive snacks and cakes, art and craft gifts, as well as East Malaysian indigenous handicraft items.
