This weekend, we will be announcing the results of our Johor International Schools Young Photographer’s Contest 2018! The fun family event will take place from 2.30pm to 5pm at the Avira Sales Gallery in Medini on 17 November 2018. Winners of the photography contest will be honoured at the event, but there’s plenty for families to do there too. Whether your kids would like to join a photography workshop, colouring activity by Crayola, or learn how to make traditional Malaysian kites called layang-layang, the fun afternoon will have something for everyone!

Learn how to make layang-layang

Layang-layang is the Malay term for kite. Try your hand at making them at the Layang-Layang Workshop and bring home your very own kite.

Discover traditional Malaysian waus

To further appreciate the Malaysian kite-flying culture, there will be a mini exhibition of waus – traditional Malaysian kites. Visitors will be able to take a closer look at the intricate designs and patterns of these special kites.

‘Colour Alive’ with Crayola

Something for the children, ‘Colour Alive’ with Crayola is a fun colouring session. Let their imagination run free and allow these young creatives to express themselves through the simple act of colouring.

Professional photographer Daniel Ooi will be holding a photography workshop for children and teenagers. Perfect for budding photographers, be sure to bring your own cameras!
