For the fourth time, Sunway International School (SIS) was once again crowned the Helios Champion at the fifth annual Sunway National Poetry SlamTM (SNaPSTM) competition.
SNaPSTM is an annual inter-school competition hosted by SIS aims to nurture young talents in creative expression literary art and voice. As poetry and self expression go hand in hand, the theme for this year’s competition was “MYdentity”,. Each participant performed a unique piece by themselves, and the audience was struck by the variety of voices, revelation, and wonder.
SIS’s students won a prize in every category and achieved the highest overall marks, becoming the Helios Champion. In the Junior Solo category, Lim Zy Thoong, SIS Grade 10, expressed society’s expectation in her poem entitled “Checkers” which got her second place.
