For business travellers, a stay conveniently situated in the heart of the business district is an added bonus. On top of that, finding one that provides a home-like stay could make all the difference for anyone.

That’s exactly what we found on our recent stay at Parkroyal Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur.

Within short walking distances to Kuala Lumpur’s main shopping district in the Bukit Bintang area, food heaven and bustling nightlife at nearby Jalan Alor and Changkat Bukit Bintang, and easily accessible to the office towers along Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan Sultan Ismail, it was no doubt one of the best choices in town. For guests’ conveniences, complimentary shuttles servicing separate business and shopping routes within the city, and an extended shopping route on weekends and public holidays are provided. And for guests looking for public transportation, there are two train stations within just a 10 minutes’ walk.

Catering to short- and long- term guests, Parkroyal Serviced Suites offers the rooms and facilities that one would feel at home. With only 10 room units on each floor, guests can choose from the smallest Studio Suites to the largest Three-bedroom Suites. An open kitchen equipped with basic utensils and appliances, and a separate living area in each room type certainly has its appeal – especially for families and long-term guests. Having an option to cook, along with a place to gather or entertain, are indeed plus factors. Needless to say, we were delighted to check in to our pleasant, homey room.

Operating on the ground floor is the Resident Lounge, offering daily breakfast and weekday lunch. A decent spread of continental breakfast is served every morning for guests to kick start the day. For the convenience of not stepping out of the room for food, In-Room dining is available. With a menu selection of Asian and Western dishes at reasonable prices, guests can place an order from 11am to 10pm daily with the last order at 9.30pm. However, being within close proximity to food, be it hawker stalls or high-end restaurants, we felt encouraged to explore the many multicultural cuisines nearby.

Walking a flight of stairs up from the Resident Lounge, we were welcomed by a warm and cosy ambiance. The Mezzanine Lounge presents a relaxing space to chill and socialize over a cup of coffee. There is a mini library with a good selection of books for some quiet downtime. Board games and an Xbox with a large TV are available for some entertainment, while children have their playtime at the kids’ corner. There are even foosball and air hockey tables for anyone up to a fun challenge.

With two swimming pools in the building, guests get to choose whether to use the pool at level one or at the rooftop. Located on the 31st floor, the rooftop pool overlooks the city skyscrapers, and KL Tower is not far away and plainly in sight – a beautiful view, if you ask us. There are also outdoor jacuzzis, steam rooms, and sauna rooms for some detox and relaxation after a busy day out in the city.

Apart from the swimming pool, level one also offers a few other facilities catering to the needs of different guests. For the health-conscious, a fitness centre with well-equipped gym is there to shed some extra calories. For the work-minded, a business centre is there to attend to day-to-day business matters, or even to hold meetings. And for those who want to do their laundry, a 24-hour self-service laundrette is available.

It was a short city staycation. Nevertheless, Parkroyal Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur was indeed an ideal choice, and the hospitable service made us feel welcome. For guests who self-drive, the complimentary parking was an added touch. We left recharged and happy.
