It was a great learning session with Scott Millar, the 19 year-old CEO and founder of BOP Industries from 3 to 5 September in conjunction with Australia Malaysia Innovation Week 2019.With an increased focus on how we can best prepare our students for an ever changing workforce of the future, we are seeing a great deal of research promoting the value of entrepreneurship, innovation and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) in the classroom.
This ‘Innovation Week’ program saw students from Years 3 to 10 working to ideate, innovate, and create over three days with a series of BOP programs around the pillars of STEAM, entrepreneurship, innovation, an sustainability. With programs tailored to students in different age groups, students were given an introduction to a range of different concepts and ideas, then leaving them with the desire to develop their skills in individual interest areas. Overall, our students got a glimpse at how social and technological factors have influenced scientific developments and how future applications of science and technology may affect people’s lives.
