School Snaps: Young GIS Student Donates His Own Hair to Charity

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A Year 1 GIS student decided to donate his hair to a local charity, having been inspired by a story he read.

Boys Who Dare to be Different’ shares the tale of a young boy who, despite being teased, decided to grow his hair and donate it to charity. Having read this, six-year- old Albie chose to do the same thing, ultimately donating 21 cm of his hair to ‘Locks of Hope,’ which create wigs for children who don’t have hair – usually as a result of illness.

We are humbled by Albie’s determination to challenge gender stereotypes whilst supporting a worthwhile cause. Well done, Albie. What a great example to us all!
