As the world slowly opens up, it’s good to know that international travel is back in the cards for many who have had their wings clipped.

A recent update by the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur raised spirits when they announced that fully vaccinated Malaysians can now experience hassle-free travel to the United States as long as they have proof of vaccination on their MySejahtera app, and a negative Covid-19 test.

Presented in a YouTube video, the embassy explains colloquially what’s needed for travellers proof wise, that includes the MySejahtera app, CDC Covid-19 Vaccination Record card, and other certificates issued by respective countries for Malaysian residents.

“Beginning November 8, foreign nationals travelling to the United States are required to demonstrate proof of full vaccination against Covid-19, in addition to showing proof of a negative Covid-19 test,” said the US Embassy in a caption accompanying the video.

A representative from the embassy has also gone on to assure the public that accepted vaccines into the US will include FDA-approved and WHO Emergency Use List vaccines. People who haven’t received booster shots (third dose) will also be able to enter the US.

“Anyone who is fully vaccinated with an FDA- or WHO-authorised vaccine can go to the US,” the embassy staff explained.
