In May, OIS hosted the 4th annual International Celebration. The event was a beautiful showcase of the many cultures, talents, and backgrounds that combine to make the OIS community so special. In the morning, families, students, and staff were invited to visit the Global Campus. Each grade adopted a country, decorated their classrooms accordingly, and created interactive activities to teach visitors about their chosen country. 

Afterward, families congregated into the gymnasium to watch the annual flag ceremony. This year, OIS had 20 countries represented.  The event ended with a celebration. Parents cooked, students performed, and staff created games and activities – and all of it helped showcase what makes the Oasis (OIS) school so special – the amazing and diverse community. 

The International Celebration provides students with an opportunity to acknowledge, appreciate, and celebrate the diverse community at OIS. It provides younger students (elementary and middle) with an interactive learning space to engage the world around them. For high school students, it provides an authentic platform to address important global causes in a fun way.
