Nissan Motor Company has disclosed a prototype car which has the potential to eliminate the need of washing vehicles. The Japanese vehicle manufacturer is currently undertaking a series of experiments with a special kind of super-hydrophobic paint called Ultra-Ever Dry. This paint is formulated to be oil and water resistant and is known for its “self cleaning” properties. Ultra-Ever Dry is the product of the UltraTech International company.
The new paint functions by the creation of a protective air layer between paint and its environment. Ultra-Ever Dry practically stops spray on the roads and standing water from leaving behind dirty marks on the surface of the car.
The company has announced that this revolutionary paint is currently undergoing tests on its Nissan Note model and it has performed satisfactorily in general weather conditions, including snow, sleet and frost. The paint had also undergone tests in standing water. Nissan has reiterated that its engineers at Europe located Nissan’s Technical Center will continue to test the paint over the subsequent few months.
