First Iteration
The first iteration of the YotaPhone has a 4.3” 720 pixel screen on one side and a similarly sized e-ink monochrome display that is always-on on the other side. This model was priced at $678.09, which amounts to RM 2,187.86. This model was, however, not available in most countries and was rolled out only to Russia and Germany with online purchasing available to Spanish, French and Austrian consumers. Although the phone was also promised to be launched in other European countries and the Middle East, it never made it to Malaysia.
New model to be released
The rarest Android phone will now have a second or newer iteration that promises to be sleeker than its predecessor. The next generation of the YotaPhone will have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8974 processor compared to the single core processor of the previous version. It will also have a larger primary display screen that measure 4.7 inches, which is its always-on ink display. The other screen is a 5” 1080-pixel AMOLED screen.
The new YotaPhone will also have a 2GB RAM and a massive storage capacity of 32GB with an 8MP camera and a 2MP one in the front. This model will also be released in 20 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and the US, unlike its predecessor.
Its makers have announced that the phone will be available by the end of 2014, but there is no word yet about the availability of the phone in Malaysia and the price of this model.
