Staff and students at elc International School Cyberjaya recently celebrated a successful Language Day. The colourful costumes of many countries contributed to the atmosphere and authenticity of the day. Students were beautifully attired and resplendent in their own national dress. They were given a “passport” to take with them on the two circuits that comprised many language cafés. They visited Pakistan, India, Samoa, Malaysia, Australia, and Spain on one circuit. On the second circuit, students visited China and New Zealand, as well as passing through Customs and Immigration. Many new words from a variety of different languages were discovered from around the world, with the aim of Language Day being to encourage students to be global citizens, risk takers, and adventurous learners.
