The International School of Kuala Lumpur recently announced that Eugenia Kwon and Diane Hare have been named Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, was presented by the Head of School, Dr. Norma Hudson and High School Principal, Mr. Jeff Farrington to these talented seniors. In attendance at the ceremony were the proud mums of both the students.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the US are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Both Diana and Eugenia join the select ranks of only the top three percent of almost 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 Competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
“These young women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for NMSC. “Recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
Congratulations to both Eugenia and Diana!
