There was a very well-attended Mingle at the Flamingo Hotel on 18 October. It’s a great location, in the heart of Tanjong Bunga, and has a delightful, breezy terrace. It also has a welcoming vibe and great food. Many people commented on the excellence of the buffet, which contained hot and cold items, as well as desserts. The staff made a real effort and a lovely evening was enjoyed by all.

The delicious wine, as usual, was provided by The Wine Shop, and was extremely well received.

A chance to chat and network seems to be the order of the day at Mingles and you never know if you will meet a new friend or run into an old one. The CEO of the Expat Group, Andy Davison, always makes it a point to come up to Penang for Mingles and meet the expats who live up here.

Victoria Lamb of Plants Global International Sdn Bhd donated a lovely orchid arrangement and IWA member Stefanie Bowie was delighted to win it. Victoria has recently relocated to Penang and set up a landscape gardening business.

When it got to nine o’clock, the party was still going strong. Only with reluctance did the last guests leave – which is a sure sign of success! Until the next time…….
